Joint Chapter Meeting - Call for Papers (3-4 Dec 2020, Deventer)

Dear members or potential members,

CAA Netherlands/Flanders and CAA Germany are planning to organize the 2020 joint chapter meeting at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Deventer, The Netherlands, December 3-4 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 situation in the world we can not be sure we will be able receive all guests in Deventer. We will try to accommodate as many people as possible, but we’ll also try to organize an online option.
With ever increasing ubiquity of digital tools and practices, and applications related to data science in archaeology, the organizing committee is expecting a prolific event that critically focuses on the theory and practice of digital and quantitative methods in archaeology. The topics that can be addressed by the participants include (but are not limited to):

  • Pandemic proof archaeology
  • Big data and machine learning
  • Semantic web and linked open data
  • Open science  and reproducibility
  • Museums and digital archaeology
  • Archaeology and gaming
  • Teaching (digital) archaeology
  • Quantitative approaches to archaeology
  • Legacy data in digital archaeology
  • Mobile GIS and data recording strategies
  • Little minions (short (10 minutes) talks on little digital helpers)
  • Spatial and temporal fuzziness and uncertainty in archaeology
  • Remote sensing and landscape archaeology

December 3: (Online) Conference
December 4: (Online) Conference
